THE children of Larne Borough will have the opportunity to go actively 'nutty' about football this summer thanks to the continued partnership between the IFA's Grassroots Football Department and Irwin's Bakery.
The Irish FA's 'Nutty Krust Summer Soccer Schools' are co-ordinated by the Irish FA's Grassroots Development Officers and staffed by fully qualified coaches. Running throughout July and August - the Soccer Schools are an ideal way to get children actively involved with football over the summer months.
“These Summer Soccer Schools provide a great opportunity for the children of Larne Borough to have fun, get active and improve their football skills during their school holidays," said IFA Grassroots Development Officer, Jonathan Michael. "All our coaches will place an emphasis on making the Soccer Schools fun, enjoyable, safe, and rewarding whilst providing a positive learning experience for each child."
Speaking about the Nutty Krust Summer Soccer Schools, Nigel Worthington said "This Summer programme is the biggest and best in Northern Ireland and the Irish FA aim to provide your child with the best introduction to football, and you never know, even unearth some future international stars."
Michael Murphy, Irwin's Commercial Controller added "Irwin's and Nutty Krust are delighted to sponsor the IFA's Summer Soccer Schools for the fourth year running. Last year proved a huge success in regards to kids attending the schools right across the province and we are looking forward to a great summer and hope the kids have a great time developing their soccer skills fuelled by Northern Ireland's favourite grocer product."
As an added incentive this summer - UMBRO the official partner of the Irish FA will be sponsoring the Search for a Star skills challenge. 50 of the top players from the Nutty Krust Summer Soccer Schools around the country will be selected to represent their area. Each selected player will receive a new pair of Umbro boots, and two if the winning stars receive an Umbro player sponsorship deal for one year.
