Parks Tennis Northern Ireland comes to Larne thumbnailUlster Interprovincial player and experienced coach, Adam Boyle along with Rosie and Daisy are getting prepared for the Parks Tennis Sessions commencing on Monday 26th to be held in Larne Town Park. SL2915

THIS year for the first time ever Parks Tennis NI, in partnership with Larne Borough Council and Larne Bowling and Lawn Tennis Club, welcomes all six to 17 year olds to the local Town Park tennis courts in Larne to experience tennis.
The week long programme starts on Monday 26th July at the Town Park and continues each day until Friday 30th July 2010 and participants require no prior experience of tennis to join in.
Parks Tennis is a new organisation set-up in December 2009 and aims to provide under 18 players across Northern Ireland with the opportunity to enjoy, participate and recreate through tennis by reaching into the community and linking Parks, Clubs and schools.
This summer successful programmes have already been held in Portadown and Hillsborough attracting many new and experienced players alike.
Parks Tennis ask that all players bring a completed Parks Tennis registration form with them on Monday 26th July along with a £10 registration fee to take part. These forms are available from Larne Bowling & Lawn Tennis Club notice board and website www.lbltc.co.uk, Larne Leisure Centre or the Parks Tennis website at www.parkstennis.com.
Ulster Interprovincial player and experienced coach, Adam Boyle, will provide tuition and advice to all those taking part in the fun games organised throughout the week. The hour long sessions will be from 10.00am to 11.00am for 6 to 10 year olds and from 11.00am to 12.00pm for 11 to 17 year olds each day.
All equipment will be provided but players are very welcome to bring their own racquets if they wish to. All players will, however, be required to wear a pair of trainers in order to take part.
As part of the programme participants will be invited to attend Larne Bowling & Lawn Tennis Club on Friday 30th July instead of the Town Park courts where a fun event will take place for all of those involved.
Larne Bowling & Lawn Tennis Club has kindly agreed to donate two free junior memberships valid for the remainder of this year and all of 2011 to two lucky participants. Full details will be available upon registration.
Larne Bowling & Lawn Tennis Club have also organised taster bowls sessions for all participants of the Parks Tennis programme on Friday 30th July to try bowling for free. Refreshments will be made available after the tennis sessions at 10.00am to 11.00am and 11.00am to 12.00pm and then players will be given the opportunity to take to the green with junior bowls and expert tuition in a relaxed environment. Parks Tennis Northern Ireland would like to acknowledge Larne Borough Council and Larne Bowling & Lawn Tennis Club for their support to date in making this programme possible. We would like to emphasize again that players do not need prior experience to take part in this programme and players of all standards and abilities will be made to feel very welcome.
We look forward to you joining in with us for a great week of tennis from Monday 26th July 2010 and if you have any queries please contact either Lauren on 07540466750 or via email lauren_ubti@yahoo.co.uk, or Albert on 07718433416.
