Peter Moore wins Senior Scratch Cup

THE Club Senior Scratch Cup, played over Saturday and Sunday was won by Peter Moore with a score of 143.
Second was Bill McAtamney with the same total. Richard Moore was third with a total of 144. Nett scores were Stephen McLaughlin with a score of 63, Gary Barbour was second with a nett 64.
The Junior Scratch Cup was won by Warren Wright with a score of 69, with nett prizes going to David Woods (nett 62) and Mervyn Kelly (nett 63).
The Intermediate Scratch Cup was won by Keith Watson with a 77, nett winners being Alan Adair and Wilson Crymble, both nett 64. The Five Day Members prize was won by Barry Pentland with 41 points.
W Salters was runner-up with the same score.
On Tuesday, the Ladies Section played for the Wetta McFadden trophy. The winner was Debbie Skilling with 39 points. Rosemary Lamont was second with the same score, and Ruth Mawhinney was third with 36 points.
Last Tuesday, Carrickfergus Golf Club Ladies Section held an Open Team Scramble on Tuesday, with the event sponsored by McDowell's Butchers.
The overall winners were the Lady Captain Lorraine Gibson, partnered by Janet Robinson and Clare Winning (Greenisland) with a nett 56.2
Second were Adrienne Baker, Cara Smith and Jan Davoll with a nett 57.2.
Third was Flo Thompson, Helen Pedlow and Bernie Tolan with a nett 58.7, fourth was Molly Anderson, Sandra Wallace and Rebecca Weir, nett 59.8, fifth was Shiela McCann (Fortwilliam), Linda Armstrong (Ballyclare) and Megan Thompson 61.8 and sixth was Helenn Vizard, Deane Musgrave and Julia Wright, nett 62.8 A five-day competition run during the week was won by Paul Muise with 43 points; whilst in second place was Terry Davis with a score of 37 points.
A Holt Shield team containing three of the Fred Daly team beat Belvoir Park 4-1 and so win the section and await the draw for the Match Play stages.
Booking sheets for Open Week (July 24-31) are now available in the Professionals Shop (93 351803) with the outstanding prize fund bookings are already heavy so anyone interested in playing should book contact the Professional as soon as possible.
