Sainsbury's provide much needed rehydration to Carrickfergus College pupils! thumbnailSetting off on the Marathon in aid of the Kids Alive Charity SA2625

SAINSBURY'S Carrickfergus are proud to help Carrickfergus College pupils by providing them with much needed water during their Marathon relay run held at the school running track.
The event was to raise funds for the Kids Alive charity, helping kids within Bokiji.
Bokiji is a small town in the Oromia region of Ethiopia. Despite extreme poverty and HIV crisis, this small town, the size of Carrickfergus, has repeatedly produced some of the worlds finest long distance runners, claiming many Olympic Medals and World Records.
Carrickfergus College has been working with the Kids Alive Project in this area to provide quality education and essential healthcare.
Sainsbury's aims to encourage kids to have a healthier lifestyle by helping them learn about the importance of eating well and being active. We have recently finished our first active kids voucher scheme within Carrickfergus, with many of the local schools benefiting from free sports, cooking and gardening equipment.
Sainsbury's, Carrickfergus is very involved with the local community and Richard Heaton, Store Manager says " I am really glad we are able to support not only one of our local schools but also the Kids Alive charity and I hope that they can achieve their goal in helping the people of Bokiji".
