Man attacked by gang

A MAN has been injured after being attacked by a gang in his home in Carrickfergus last week.
Four men armed with sticks and bats assaulted the man in his 30s in the Woodburn housing estate about 10.30pm on Monday, 20th July.
The victim was taken to hospital with injuries, including fractures, which are not thought to be life-threatening.
Carrickfergus Alliance Councillor Stewart Dickson has expressed revulsion at the attack.
“This was a deeply troubling incident and my thoughts are with the injured man as he recovers from this attack. Incidents of this nature are absolutely unacceptable and people want a society free from violence and intimidation," he said.
"The community will be shocked at this horrific attack and it must have been a deeply traumatic ordeal for the victim.
"I would appeal to anyone who can assist police with their investigation to contact them."
